Procedure for Modifying a Nerf Gun
In order to modify and use your own Nerf gun during AP Assassination, your modified gun must be inspected and approved in person by the Tournament Coordinator, Kat Krieger. During this approval, the Coordinator will ensure that the modifications adhere to the AP Assassination rules and guidelines, and are not harmful to the target. He will ask to see the gun itself and to see a test firing.
Failure to use an approved gun during AP Assassination
may be grounds for the disqualification of a kill.
Please make arrangements to have your modified Nerf gun approved.
The rules with respect to Nerf guns are:
1. All projectiles must be propelled by
something other than your body itself (i.e. you may not use a Nerf football
or sword). Only Nerf and similar brand guns and darts/pellets may be used.
2. Modified Nerf guns (i.e. modified air restrictors,
barrels) must be approved by the coordinator in person.
3. Nerf balls and rubber rings used in a Vortex blasters
or other blasters are not allowed.
4. Do NOT paint your Nerf gun black; in the past, police
have drawn guns on participants whose Nerf blasters closely resembled
real weapons.
5. High-pressure devices (i.e. CO2 cartridges) are strictly
prohibited.
